It all started in the 1960’s when Fernando Cua, the patriarch of the Cua clan, started a small abaca trading business in San Andres, Catanduanes. Through his hard work and determination he was able to grow his business and pass it on to his two sons – Joseph and Peter Cua.

Manila Hemp Trading Corporation currently has three operating branches: two in Catanduanes and one in Camarines Sur. These branches are strategically spread out within the Bicol region in order to enable more farmers to bring in their abaca products and provide them livelihood. This also allows Manila Hemp Trading Corp. to meet the needs of its local and export deliveries.
